About Me
​Since 2000, I’ve been a high school Economics teacher in Bakersfield, California. Teaching is a wonderful profession but it also has become very challenging with the advent of the smartphone. In 2019 I was in the middle of lecturing to my students on supply and demand. During my lecture a student got up, with cell phone in hand, and began scanning the room looking for a place to charge his phone. As he began to plug in his cell phone to charge, I lost it! My many years of frustration with student use of cell phones in class had finally boiled over and, unfortunately, I let him and the other students know about it. I was mad, frustrated, and disappointed to the point that I rushed over to my local home improvement store after school and purchased blank covers for all the outlets in my classroom. Since that day I have been on a mission to create a simple yet effective solution for all teachers to combat the excessive use of cell phones in class and it's finally here, PLUGGED IN!
